Candle care is important for the longevity of your candle -- make sure you get the most use out of it! Here's a few tips and tricks on how to make sure you don't waste any product.

The first burn of the candle is most important as it sets how the candle will perform for the rest of its candle life.

It is very important to let the pool of melted wax reach the edges of the candle container before you put out the flame. For a 100g candle, this would take at least 2 hours and for the 240g candle, this may sometimes take up to 4 hours.

If this first step is not followed correctly, the candle will not burn to the edge and will slowly tunnel down in the middle in which case a border of wax will be wasted on the edge.

Can we fix this?

Maybe! Please contact us via Instagram DM and send us a picture of your candle. We can try to give you some tips on how to recover from tunnelling.

is my candle supposed to look like this?

rough pitted tops

This is a feature of soy wax -- it shows that we are using 100% natural soy wax! This does not affect the performance of the candle at all.

candle frosting

This is a natural effect of soy wax and only occurs throughout vegetable waxes. Frosting takes place when the  wax tries to return to its natural state

-- frosting is another solid proof that the candle is using 100% natural wax.

trimming

It is recommended that you trim the wick before each use. The length of the wick should be around 1/4 of an inch before each burn.

An untrimmed wick will lead to to a bigger flame and possible smoke while burning. Our wicks are naturally smokeless and if you experience any smoke with our candles then it's time to trim away!
