Are candles harmful? Do they release toxins?
Traditional paraffin wax candles are dangerous. Paraffin wax is a by-product of petroleum (yes, fossil fuel) and emits harmful gases (toluene & benzene) when burnt. It is much cheaper in cost — that is why most machine-made candles from many big brands use paraffin wax or mixed waxes that include paraffin wax (unless stated otherwise).
These harmful gases that are released in the air are known as carcinogens — caner causing agents.
They also produce soot which when inhaled may lodge deep in your lungs and enter the bloodstreams causing heart attacks.
why we use 100% natural soy wax
Soy wax candles have a clean burn and does not release any harmful toxins (and also no smoke) while burning.
It also lasts about 30-50% longer than traditional paraffin wax candles.
We choose soy wax because its from a natural renewable source — soy beans!

our recycling program
The creators of dim it have always grown up with strong recycling morales and have tried to imply them into the business as much as possible. With design packaging in mind, we always try to reduce as much waste as possible -- therefore explains the very minimal packaging. Sometimes you may even get a shipment from us with different boxes as we try to recycle the boxes that we receive!
We currently have THREE recycling programs:
1. get a free candle
Bring back 5 empty 100g tin cans to get one 100g scented candle of your choice for free!
Please contact us directly via Instagram to arrange for the free candle.
2. replanting service at a special price
Bring back an empty 100g tin can and receive a repotting plant service at a special price! Not only do these plants look stylish and chic, it's an amazing way to give another life to these tin cans!
You may bring the empty can back to our consignment store location -- Green Egg Store in Central for the replanting service.
3. Bring back a container for us refill at a special price
Bring back any 240g glass container and refill the scent of your choice at a special price!
